Ikon Estates were Dubai based property development company who were looking at branching out in to the UK development market. We were recommended by an existing client to Ikon to help guide them through this process. We were also there to support Ikon and advise on the general procurement and building solutions and options in the UK and also introduce them to this market.

The first phase involved the construction of 3 show homes and associated external works, the second phase involved the construction of 1nr 14 bed apartment block and the final phase involved the construction of 13nr additional houses and another 14 bed apartment.

Re-development of Britannia House

Client: Neo Auto Ltd
Role: Project Manager and Cost Advice
Project Value: £6.2m

DMR have been appointed Cost Advisor and Project Manager for the sympathetic redevelopment of Britannia House in the centre of Birmingham . A 10 storey office block refurbishment with roof garden, gym and underground car park is to be refurbished. Due to the building’s position as a focal point as you enter the City Centre, DMR and the rest of the DT has had to work closely with Birmingham City Council to ensure the aesthetics of the building are suitable and sympathetic to its surroundings and the City’s vision for the future of Birmingham City Centre. Close attention has had to be paid to the cladding replacement, material and visuals to ensure this.

Currently we are preparing the Bills of Quantities to go out and to tender and have been involved in the planning and feasibility studies to enable this project to proceed to tender.

Re-development of Chateau Impney

Client: Greyfort Properties Ltd
Role: Cost Advicer
Project Value: £45m

DMR were appointed as cost advisor to provide early feasibility advice for the redevelopment of the existing Chateau Impney Site. The Chateau is Grade II listed and sits partly on green belt, a sympathetic approach was required as well as ensuring the client received the necessary return on there investment.

Our brief was to produce a series of cost options which combined a mixture of building usage including industrial, offices, light industrial, retirement and residential on the brown field parcel of land within the Chateau. Consideration and cost allowances had to be made for the existing site infrastructure works (which was limited) and the sensitive nature of its surroundings.
The project is still in the early design stages whilst the client reviews the cost options submitted.
